Why this forum

Many health innovations are developed and assessed in controlled or hospital settings. Whether they succeed in routine care depends on community acceptance, frontline usability, referral pathways, connectivity and data quality.

The Maharashtra Community Health Living Lab in Alibag, Raigad District, is the field implementation platform of the Maharashtra Innovation & Impact Hub. It places solutions inside an existing community-health system, where they can be deployed, observed, refined and validated alongside frontline health workers and real care pathways.

The forum is designed not as a conventional conference, but as a solution-oriented working session where industry perspectives meet on-ground healthcare realities.

An innovation should not be judged only by whether it works technically, but also by whether it works in practice.

Workshop overview

Two days that move from discussing healthcare challenges to identifying concrete opportunities the Hub can support through validation, research, evidence generation and pathways toward adoption.

Panels, open forum and demonstrations

Experts and organisations come together around three thematic areas through panel conversations, an open forum and selected MedTech innovation demonstrations.

  • Three thematic panels: gaps, open forum, expert response, pathway
  • MedTech device demonstration and innovation exchange
  • Startup pitch challenge

Startup Pitch Challenge

Selected startups demonstrate the problem their innovation addresses, how it is intended to be used, who the user is, and which assumptions still need to be tested under Indian primary-care or last-mile conditions.

Applications are scored by an evaluation panel. The three highest-ranked startups in each category are invited to pitch at IIT Bombay on Day 1.

The award

The winning startup receives the opportunity to conduct a study within the Living Lab ecosystem for up to 100 participants, free of cost.
